An invitation to share our food and culture
We chose the name Gostijo as it means “sharing food” in Ladino, the traditional language of Sephardic Jews. And this is the aim of the restaurant – to share traditional Sephardic recipes and the rich and ancient culture of Sephardic Jews. We established the restaurant in the heart of Athens, in the up-and-coming neighborhood of Psiri. We welcome visitors from abroad as well as local Athenians who keep on coming back to try tasty, interesting dishes not found elsewhere in the city.
Enjoy a unique Kosher dining experience. Gostijo provides Glatt Kosher, dishes for everyone. The food is lovingly prepared with carefully chosen ingredients following recipes that have been handed from generation to generation.
Sample the rich flavors in cozy surroundings, or dine al fresco in our atmospheric courtyard during summer months. Our specialties include Sambousak and Bourekitas (small handmade pies), Haminados eggs, Sfoungato (fluffy omelets) and Keftes de Puerro (leek fritters)
Gostijo is more than a restaurant. It’s a place to hear live Greek and Ladino music, learn about Sephardic culture, enjoy family events and buy Kosher products from Greece, Israel and Europe. We even offer catering services throughout Greece so people everywhere can savor the exquisite flavors of centuries of Sephardic cooking.
